The use of lead in Aviation Gasoline is not sustainable.
Major consumers of lead in car petrol such as India, China and South America will shift to unleaded fuels causing world demand for tetraethyllead to decrease dramatically. This power point presentation from 2003 explains the problems producers of aviation gasoline have and their options to change to unleaded AVGAS.
